Rosie passed away Monday, September 12, 2005 at her home in Dickinson. Rosie was born on October 1, 1918 the daughter of George and Arminnie (Dorval) Tessier in Belfield, ND. She grew up and was in the very first class at the St. Patrick’s School in Dickinson. She later finished her schooling in Belfield. Rosie was married to Milo Burwick on November 20, 1946 in Wibaux, MT. After their marriage they moved to Spokane, WA where they resided for a time. After returning to Dickinson, Milo and Rosie opened Don-L Drive-In, which was the first drive up restaurant in Dickinson. Along with raising her family of eight, she was always willing to drive the cattle truck for Milo where ever they needed to be hauled. Over the years, she also worked at Looney’s Mercantile as well as waitressing at the Palm Beach Club. Rosie enjoyed working with her daughters at Country Kitchen in her later years. She loved the country way of life, especially working in her yard and flower garden. Rosie loved all animals but she enjoyed her horses most of all. She spent many hours riding for pleasure. Anyone who came to Rosie’s home was welcome to stay for dinner or spend the night. Her special love was for Milo as well as her children, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. One of the most important gifts she gave her children was the unwavering devotion to her faith. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and the VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include, four sons, Gerald (Eileen) Burwick, Dale (Judy) Burwick, Dean (Marilyn) Burwick all of Dickinson, and Barry (Lisa) Burwick, Lyons, CO; four daughters, Garnet (Ray) Wock, South Heart, Myra (Ted) Klein, Tess (Tom) Ehli and Marlo (Ryan) Nelson all of Dickinson; 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
