Memorial Services for Roy Everett McCord, 89, of Ekalaka, MT be at 1:00 p. m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka with Jimmy Carroll officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Beaver Lodge Cemetery at Ekalaka. Roy passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Dahl Memorial Health Care in Ekalaka, MT. Roy Everett McCord was born in Plevna, MT on January 28, 1919, to Ed & Mabel (Logan) McCord. Roy was the fifth of ten children. He grew up in the Ridgway area and worked for neighboring ranches. Roy married Zetty ?Pearl? Cline on October 11, 1941 in Ekalaka, MT. They worked for Pearl?s parents, Alfred and Lois Cline. For sometime, Roy and Pearl lived in a sheep wagon. Roy and Pearl later ranched on Spring Creek until 1950, when they moved to Oregon. Roy joined the Operating Engineers and worked road construction until he retired. After Roy?s retirement, they moved from Klamath Falls, OR to Grants Pass, OR. Pearl passed away in March of 1998. They had many happy years together raising their three sons, Micky, Duane and Rex. Roy enjoyed playing cards, going to the NFR Rodeo in Las Vegas, working with rawhide and hanging out with his three boys. Roy is survived by his three sons, Micky McCord, Duane (Sandy) McCord, and Rex (Lynn) McCord all of Ekalaka, MT; a brother, LaVerne McCord; three sisters, Evelyn Dodd, Dorothy Bernard, and Ruth Loehding; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a special companion, Cally Stieg and numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mabel McCord, his wife, Pearl, a daughter-in-law, Libby McCord, two grandsons, Clint and Lance, a great-grandson, Shawn, four brothers, Clifford McCord, Kenneth McCord, Dale McCord and Lance McCord and one sister, Bessie Carnon. At the family?s request, Memorials may be made to Dahl Memorial Health Care in Ekalaka, MT. Arrangements are under the care of the Stevenson Funeral Home of Ekalaka, MT.
