Roy Olson

Funeral Service for Roy Olson, 86, of Dickinson, formerly of Dunn Center will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 a. m. , January 6, 2004 at the Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Burial will be in the Vang Cemetery, south of Dunn Center. Visitation is Monday, January 5, 2004, from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Roy passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at the St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Roy was born March 29, 1917 in Halliday, ND to Haakon and Pernella (Tappen Anderson) Olson. He attended school in the Eagle nest #21 School District and upon completion he continued to farm with his family for many years. After selling his land, Roy went on to work for other farmers and ranchers. In 1991, Roy retired and moved to Killdeer and later moved to The Evergreen Retirement home residing here until September of 2003. Roy then went to live at St. Luke?s Nursing home due to his failing health. Roy enjoyed hunting and being outdoors on the farm. He will be long remembered for kindness to all his family, friends and neighbors. Roy is survived by his two brothers, Olaf Olson of Dickinson, Harold Olson of Dickinson, one sister, Helen Olson of Alameda, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents and four sisters preceded him in death.
