Funeral Services for Roy J. Schuh, 82, of Baker, MT, will be at 2:00 p. m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the American Lutheran Church in Baker, MT with Pastors Bruce & Reba Kolasch officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Baker American Legion, Fallon Post #35. Interment will be at 10:00 a. m. Monday, August 25, 2008, in the family lot at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, WY. Visitation will be from 1:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. on Friday, August 22nd, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Roy passed away shortly after a celebration of his 82nd birthday. Roy John Schuh was born on July 4, 1926 in Hazen, ND, a son of Fred B. and Pauline (Metler) Schuh. He attended school at Otter Creek, ND and later served in the United States Army, stationed in Fairbanks, AK. After his Honorable Discharge, Roy returned to Hazen where he met and married LaVerne Emelia Neuberger on April 20, 1947. Roy and LaVerne lived in Mercer County where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and was very proud to have been part of building the Garrison Dam. Roy and LaVerne moved to Baker, MT in 1965, where they made their home until their deaths. Roy enjoyed planting his garden each spring and working in his shop. He was always working on a project and could be found starting a new endeavor. He enjoyed playing cards and was always up for a good dance. Roy truly loved the letters his granddaughters, Kaylee and Andrea, sent. Roy was a dedicated and faithful member of the American Lutheran Church in Baker. He is survived by his children, Ronald (Susan) Schuh of Dickinson, ND, Donald (Tracey) Schuh, Sherald (Betty) Schuh and LaRay (Ken) Markve all of Gillette, WY; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister, Amanda Bauer of Beulah, ND and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, LaVerne, two infant children, his parents, Fred and Pauline, his brother, Richard, and his sisters, Agnes, Irene, Eleanor and Ruth.
