Funeral services for Ruby Lambourn, 99, of Dickinson, ND will be 10 a. m. , Monday, June 15, 2009 at St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church Dickinson, ND with Pastor Steve Tangen officiating. Burial will be at 2 p. m. in the Bowman Cemetery, Bowman, ND. Visitation will be from 12 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND. Ruby passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009 in Dickinson, ND. Ruby Alice Yanski was born January 27, 1910 in Bowman, ND to Emil and Mary (Bennet) Yanski. She grew up and attended schools in the Bowman and Reeder, ND area. On March 18, 1927, Ruby and Earl C. Lambourn were married in Hettinger, ND. To this union five children were born, Mary, Bethel, Lawrence, Darlene and Joan. Together, they lived in the Bowman and Reeder area where they made their home. After Earl?s death, Ruby began working as a cook at the public school in Reeder. After all the children were graduated from high school, Ruby moved to Ames, Iowa and worked as a cook for Juvenile facility. She retired in 1980. Due to failing health, Ruby moved into St. Luke?s Care Center in 2004. Ruby enjoyed playing pinochle and whist. She also enjoyed knitting hats, gloves and slippers. She loved her church and especially enjoyed studying the Bible. Ruby loved her children and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as their families. Ruby liked to garden and enjoyed both the vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed her independence and traveled around in her own car or by bus. Ruby was very adaptive to the many changes she experienced in her 99 years of life and even continued taking computer classes at St. Luke?s Home. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Ruby, Ames, IA and Joan (John) Maskie, Mountrose, CO; daughter in-law, Donna Lambourn, Seattle, WA; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; sister, Doris Maas, Golden, CO. She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Earl; son, Lawrence; daughters, Mary (William) Holmes and Bethel (Wayne) Morris; 7 siblings. Family suggests memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, St. Luke?s Nursing Home or St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
