Ruby Erma Paul was born on August 23, 1936, a daughter of Edith Faye Reynolds in Amity, MO. At a young age she moved with her mother to Lake Port, CA where Ruby attended school and graduated from Lake Port High School. Ruby met and married Earl Benson. Ruby and Earl would later divorce. She eventually married Darrell Billups. To these two unions Ruby was blessed with four children: Michael, Steven, Teresa and John. Ruby made her home in Lake Port where she raised her family. After a few years, she started working in the office at Ukiah Medical Clinic in Ukiah, CA. She was a hard worker and took great pride in her work. She eventually worked her way up to the office administrator at the clinic. In her spare time Ruby became active in the Republican Party in California and was a great supporter of Ronald Regan during his Presidential Campaign. It was through her hard work and friendship that she was personally invited to President Regan?s Inaugural Ball. Ruby was very proud of that personal written invitation from President Regan. The document was near and dear to her. In the late 1980?s Ruby met and married Jerry Pahl. Following their marriage, Ruby and Jerry left California and moved to Gillette, WY. In the early 1990?s they moved to Plevna, MT. In the late 1990?s Ruby moved to Baker where she has made her home since. While in Baker she worked at various jobs and kept busy keeping an immaculate yard. She was a member of the Eastern Star and American Lutheran Church in Baker. Ruby is survived by her children, Michael Billups, Sydney, NE, Teresa Valle, Ukiah, CA, Steven Benson, Lake Havasu City, AZ, and John Billups, Baker, MT; her grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Ann Clover, Kansas City, MO, and Charlotte Pretrie, Bland MO and a brother, David Powell. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith, her brother, Ted Powell and special friend, Harold Tronstad. Ruby Pahl, 75, of Baker, MT passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Fallon Medical Complex Long Term Care in Baker, MT. In honoring Ruby?s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Baker at a later date. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Pacific Ocean off the Pier at Mendocino, CA.
