Rudy Hirsch, 85, Dickinson, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p. m. Saturday, April 2, 2005, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. George Dukart, celebrating. Interment will be in the St. Mary?s Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Friday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home with a rosary and prayer service at 7 p. m. Rudolph (Rudy) Hirsch of Dickinson, ND, son of Joseph and Marie Kern Ill Hirsch was born January 19, 1920 on the family farm south of Shefield, ND. He attended country and St. Pius schools and grew up in the Shefield area. He married Cecilia Ehlis, daughter of Frank and Rose Brittner Ehlis of New England, N. D. They farmed near New England and Reeder, ND for 30 years. They retired to New England in 1973. Cecilia died January 25, 1979, and is buried at St. Mary?s Cemetery in New England, ND. Rudy married Katy Dukart Olheiser on November 22, 1980. They lived in New England and moved to Dickinson in 1983. As a young man, he was a member of the CCC?s. He was also a member of St. Pius Verein, St. Anthony Club, German Hungarian Club, Knights of Columbus 6308, and the Eagles 2328. Rudy loved farming and ranching, fishing, genealogy, dancing, music, playing cards and woodworking. He is survived by: one son, Herbert Hirsch, Val Dez, AK; three daughters, Eva (Mike) Howe, Lebanon, OR, Marie (Roger) Maulding, Oregon City, OR; Vi (Bernie) Schaaf, Port Orchard, WA; two sisters-in-law; his loving and devoted wife, Katy Dukart Olheiser Hirsch, Dickinson, ND; five sons, Eugene (Brenda) Olheiser, Billings, MT, Burt Olheiser (Special Friend Nancy) Portland, OR, Wayne Olheiser (Special Friend Simone), Dickinson, ND, Arnold (Tina) Olheiser, Sacramento, CA, Richard Olheiser (deceased); three daughters, Doris (Larry) Davison, Gallipolis, OH, Darlene (Jerry) Brinster, Glendive, MT, LaVerne (Ryan) Erickson, New England, ND; a former daughter-in-law, Lynn Shultz; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Cecilia Ehlis Hirsch; parents, Joseph and Marie Hirsch; one brother, Jack Hirsch and numerous half brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
