Funeral Services for Ruth Perhus, 96, of Taylor will be Monday, November 5, 2007, at 1:00 p. m. at the Living Word Lutheran Church (corner of 8th St. and 5th Ave. West) Dickinson, ND. Burial will follow at the Kyseth Cemetery near Marshall where a lunch will follow at the Marshall Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Sunday, from 10:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Prayer Service being held at 4:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Visitation will continue on Monday, from 8:00 a. m. to 10:00 a. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service at the Living Word Lutheran Church. Ruth Passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Ruth Ann Hueske was born July 8, 1911 at the family homestead near Marshall, ND the daughter of Frederick and Fredrika ?Rike? (Cheinnemann) Hueske. She attended country school near her home and graduated from the 8th grade. Ruth?s help was needed on the farm so she was unable to continue formal schooling. Ruth always regretted not being able to complete her schooling. Ruth worked for numerous households around the Marshall and Fargo areas and in Minnesota, doing housework and caring for children. She also worked for grocery stores and the post office. While in Minnesota, Ruth attended the Lutheran Bible In stiute in Minneapolis, Minnesota for one term. She was married to Clinton Perhus who she met while he delivered milk where Ruth worked on February 6, 1944 at Taylor, ND. They moved to a ranch which they purchased northwest of Marshall on the Knife River. Together they built the ranch and raised their family. After the death of Clinton in 1976, Ruth moved into Taylor until 1999 when she moved to Dickinson. She lived with her daughter before moving into Evergreen in 2002. Due to failing health, Ruth made her home at St. Luke?s since October. Ruth enjoyed family gatherings and especially hosting and having everyone in her home. In her younger years, she was a RSVP Volunteer and delivered Meals on Wheels. She was a charter member of the Marshall Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, attended Bible Studies and helped the Lutheran Women?s group. Ruth and a group of former LBI students from the Taylor area organized a family Bible Camp in Medora which was held during the 50?s and 60?s. She was known to many as Grandma Ruth and was always so thankful for everything and everyone in her life. Ruth would always say good-bye with this quote ?Thank-you, I Love You and God Bless You?. Survivors include, two daughters, Beverly Elkin, Dickinson, ND, and Dorothy Morris, Billings, MT; a son, James (Linda) Perhus, Taylor, ND; five grandchildren, Kelly Elkin, Brian Elkin, Krista Elkin, Jennifer Morris and Emily (Chris) Zarak; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Elkin and Tessa Zarak; and three sister-in-laws, Catherine Hueske, Dickinson, ND, Leota (Perhus) Jurgens, Taylor, ND and Rose Hueske, Richardton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clinton, three brothers, Ervin, Clarence and Arnold Hueska and an infant sister, Florence Hueska.
