Ruth Richards

Funeral Services for Ruth Richards, 80, of Dickinson and Killdeer will be at 11:00 a. m. , Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church in Killdeer with Pastor John Simonson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery North of Killdeer following the service. Visitation for Ruth will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Ruth passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at her home in Dickinson. Ruth Ellen Richards was born September 26, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Nathan and Dorothy (Kier) Richards. Growing up, she attended school in Lansdale, PA. Following graduation, Ruth worked for Bell Telephone of PA and this is where she met her husband Karl Kehr. They were united in marriage on December 3, 1955. To this union two sons, Eric and Karl, were born. Ruth moved to Killdeer in 2004 to be closer to her family. She was a very accomplished graphic artist as well as enjoyed oil painting, doing many still-life pieces of artwork. Ruth was an excellent cook and enjoyed helping her friends with interior decorating. She will also be remembered for her strong faith and her committed service to the Lutheran Church. Ruth is survived by her sons, Eric Thomas (Stacie Lea) of Killdeer and Karl Stephen (Cari Lynn) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Karl Hunter Kehr, Kendall Marie Kehr, Cody Colt Kehr and Teresa Bell Jones; great-granddaughter, Payton Claire Jones; brother, David (Judy) Richards of Green Lane, PA; sister, Natalie (Danny) Drissel of Lansdale, PA; brother-in-law, Chet Walters of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dorothy “Tiny” Walters.
