Ruth Sieler

Funeral service for Ruth Sieler, 89, of Plevna, will be 11:00 a. m. , Friday, July 19, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Plevna, MT with Pastor Charles McCracken and Pastor Ernie Lambright officiating. Burial will follow in Plevna Community Cemetery. Visitation for Ruth will be 1:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. , Thursday, July 18th at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Ruth passed awaySaturday, July 13, 2013 at Dahl Memorial Nursing Home in Ekalaka, MT. Ruth Sieler was born on October 22, 1923, in Plevna MT, the 10th child born to Ed and Rosina (Huber) Sieler. She grew up on the family farm ten miles southwest of Plevna and attended Sieler/Steffas Country School. Ruth completed school and graduated from Plevna High School in 1943. After graduation, she continued to work on the family farm and in 1946 she began working in the Plevna Post Office. In 1954, Ruth became and served as the Post Master until her retirement in 2011. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling. She was also often seen riding her bike around Plevna and she enjoyed fishing and gardening. Ruth was considered a wonderful cook and hostess and she loved entertaining family and friends. It was important to her to keep her family connected. Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plevna all of her life. Her first love was to serve the Lord and to be a humble servant. She enjoyed reading her Bible and her biggest desire was for family and friends to be born again. Ruth was a Prayer Warrior. Ruth is survived by her brother, Ben (Amalie) Sieler of Billings, MT; sisters-in-law, Ida Sieler of Plevna, MT and Hilda Sieler of Baker, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosina and Edward; her brothers, Walter, Edwin, Arthur, Leo, Emil, Edward, Tony, Simon, Hable, and David; sister, Hulda Huether; and three infant sisters. If you desire, memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
