Funeral Service for Sarah Ellen Johnstone, 86 of Ekalaka, MT will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, July 14, 2006 at the Ekalaka Bible Church with Pastor Wallace Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in the Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka. Visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2006 from 1:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT. Visitation will continue on Friday until one hour prior to the service. Sarah passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Dahl Memorial Health Care in Ekalaka, MT Sarah was born July 7, 1920 S. W. of Ekalaka on her parents ranch in the Spring Creek area. Sarah was the second of four children and the only girl born to Jimmy and Inga Johnstone. Sarah lived and worked on the family ranch until 1966 when she and her parents moved to town. While at the ranch, having never learned to drive, Sarah?s mode of transportation to visit nearby family and friends was her horse ?Babe?. Sarah worked as a housekeeper at Dahl Memorial for 23 years, 3 months, and 1 day while also caring for her parents. Sarah never married, but enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She also enjoyed shopping, doing needle work, and reading. Sarah was known for the wonderfully delicious bread she made. Following a bad fall in March of 2004, Sarah made her home at Dahl Memorial Healthcare where many people where greeted with her cheerful smile. Sarah is survived by two brothers, Albert ?Bill? (Pete) Johnstone and Johnny (Dorothy) Johnstone of Ekalaka, a special aunt, Lila Senrud Spinney of Venice, FL, as well as her family, two nieces, Margaret (Tom) Blair and Sandra (Ray) Kirkwood of Ekalaka, four nephews Don (Ginger) Johnstone of Powderville, Jim (Lois) Johnstone of Ekalaka, Ken (Nellie) Johnstone of Broadus, and Dave (Alice) Johnstone of Ekalaka, as well as a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jimmy and Inga, and a brother, James.
