A Funeral Service for Sharon Marie Duffield Kovacich, 64, of Anaconda, MT formerly of Baker, MT will be 10:00 a. m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Pastor Rod Kilsdonk officiating. Interment will follow in the Duffield family lot in the Fertile Prairie Cemetery east of Baker. Visitation will be 2:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Wednesday, February 3rd, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p. m. . Sharon passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA following a valiant fight against a sudden and violent bought of pneumonia and stroke. Sharon Marie Duffield was born on July 29, 1945, in Miles City, MT, a daughter of Merritt Gene and Bonita (Braun) Duffield. Sharon grew up on her parent?s farm and ranch in the Fertile Prairie Community east of Baker where she attended the Fertile Prairie School through the eighth grade. She attended St. Mary?s Catholic High School in New England, ND and Baker High School where she graduated. Sharon later attended college where she obtained an Associates Degree. Sharon was blessed with three wonderful children, Alan, Stephanie and Kristin. As her children tell it, Mother taught us to love, to see beauty, to take our place in the world? and bloom there. Mother will always live in our hearts, in our memories, and in the way we see the world. May we find comfort in her soft presence all around us. You will be greatly missed Grammy Sharon. Sharon was a wonderful wife and a great companion. Those left to morn her passing are her devoted husband, Joseph Kovacich of Anaconda, MT; her three children, Alan (Barbra) Varner of Albuquerque, NM, Stephanie Varner of Covington, GA and Kristin Weeks of Chattanooga, TN; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Lunsford, Daniel Weeks, Trey Twiford, Katelyn Varner, Hannah Weeks, John Weeks, Trista Twiford and Cynthia Twiford; her mother Bonnie Duffield of Watford City, ND; four brothers, Dennis (Paula) Duffield, Bismarck, ND, Merritt ?Micky? Duffield, Rapid City, SD, Willie (Joan) Duffield, Forsyth, MT and John (Kaye) Duffield, Rapid City, SD; a sister, Linda (Dave) Knudtson, Watford City, ND and numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Merritt Duffield Sr. , three brothers, Keith, Kenny and Douglas, and two sisters, Pamela Rose Duffield and Amelia Rose Ruggles. We will miss the light and inspiration Sharon gave to all she encountered and loved. Please keep Sharon and those who are devastated by this loss in your prayers.
