Shelly married Garrett Talton on October 8, 1988 in Ephrata, WA. They lived in California and Washington for a year and a half and then moved to Buffalo in June of 1989, where they have made their home since. Shelly lived life to the fullest. She was only three years old when she was asked how much chocolate topping she wanted on her ice cream. She said, ?just too much. ? She loved to work and took delight in surprising everyone with her big hair and unique wardrobe. Her sense of humor and naturally outgoing personality made her job in public, fun for everyone who knew her. Shelly was an excellent cook and loved to try new recipes and foods. She was admired by many for her artistic talents, which included quilting, ceramics, oil painting, charcoal drawings and calligraphy. Her arts and crafts were intricate and highly detailed. She loved animals and ?doctored? many back to health. Shelly enjoyed playing the piano. She was talented in so many ways and always greeted a visitor with a friendly welcome smile. She was diagnosed with diabetes in 1985. She faced the disease with optimism and courage. She never gave up and her sense of humor carried her through many difficult days. Shelly overcame huge setbacks and her determination to keep a positive attitude was truly amazing. Shelly was baptized at the Grand River Lutheran Church in Buffalo, SD and accepted the Lord in May 1989.
