Stan went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday, September 8, 2008 surrounded by his wife and children at home on the farm. Stanley Wayne Erlenbush was born on June 29, 1933 to Gottlieb and Elsie (Kost) Erlenbush at home on the farm in Herreid, SD. At age 2 his family moved to Pollack, SD where he grew up working on the family farm. He went to country school through the eighth grade. In 1948 he moved with his parents to Baker, MT where he was employed by Jake Schweigert, working on the farm, until 1952. He met the most beautiful telephone operator, Dolores Hepperle, in 1949 and in 1951 she said ?yes? and they were married. In 1954, he purchased the Mobil Oil bulk business and in 1962 the Mobil gas station. He sold the Mobil business in 1965 when he and Walt Ehman started E & E Service, Inc. selling and servicing Massey-Ferguson and Versatile farm equipment. He bought out Walt?s share in 1966 and later added Buick and GMC vehicles. He truly cherished the many friends he made while in business and was respected as an honest and fair businessman. He sold the business in 1974. During this time he returned to farming when he bought the John Karch farm, west of Baker in 1972. In 1975 they headed west to Bozeman, MT and became involved in developing real estate and building homes, while at the same time commuting to Baker, when necessary, to do the farm work. While in Bozeman he attended Grace Bible Church and was an active member of the Bozeman Lions Club. In 1983 the prairies of eastern Montana called and Stan and Dolores moved back to Baker and made their final home on the Karch farm. Over the years Stan purchased more farm land and enjoyed making many improvements to the farm. He attended First Baptist Church in Baker and was a past member of the Baker Lions Club. Stan was a family man who led by quiet example. With only an eighth grade education he developed a great business sense and provided well for his family, but farming was his passion. He loved to work the land. He took great pride in a job well done and watching his wheat and his children grow. Stan was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. All who knew him will remember him as a man of strong faith and character. Dolores and the family extend our heartfelt thanks to Dad?s larger family and many friends and neighbors for their prayers, support and many acts of kindness during his two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Stan is survived by his loving wife, Dolores and four children: Orville (Robyn Keirle) Bozeman, MT, Wayne (Meg Hanley) Billings, MT, Lonna (Keith) Swenson, Spokane, WA and Donna (David) Havens, Baker, MT; eight grandchildren, Alex Erlenbush, Ryan and Marcus Erlenbush, Jessa (Bjiorn) Herrmann, Ben (Kelsey) Swenson, Alisha (Les) Afrank, Tracy (Heather) Havens and Rich Havens; three great grandchildren, Ashton and Saraya Afrank and Annea Herrmann; a brother, Gene (Linda) Erlenbush, Billings, MT; a half brother, Dan (Jennie) Korneychuk, Irvine, CA; a aunt, Irene (Kost) Korneychuk, Worland, WY; two step brothers and two step sisters.
