Funeral Services for Stanley Reetz, 83, of Killdeer, are 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Killdeer, with Pastor Aanen Gjovik, officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 1:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Killdeer continuing at 6:00 p. m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Killdeer. Stanley passed away on June 2, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center. Stanley was born April 27, 1921 in Hebron, ND to Gustav and Ruby (Groth) Reetz. He was raised in the Hebron area and attended Farmers Valley School and the State College of Science, Wahpeton. On October 15, 1991 Stanley married Cordella Sandvick in Sidney, Montana. The couple resided in Killdeer, ND since their marriage. Stanley constructed a replica of Theodore Roosevelt?s Cabin for the Theodore Roosevelt?s National Park Visitor Center at Medora. His creativity made him a skilled craftsman; he was a western artist, welding sculptures for many years. Stanley was a 4-H leader for over 25 years. In 1959, he was awarded the Mechanics Illustrated Golden Hammer Award. He was a very loving and giving man. Stanley is survived by his wife, Cordella, Killdeer, ND; five sons, Dennis (Deb) Reetz, St. Charles, MN, Rod (Cec) Reetz, Bismarck, ND, Robert (Lois) Reetz, Mandan, ND, Harvey (Renae) Reetz, Baker, MT, Gregg Reetz, San Francisco, CA; three daughters, Nancy (Paul) Treib, Canyon Creek, MT, Claudia (Doug) Pierce, Sidney, MT, Shari Moran, Billings, MT; step-son, Andrew (Anita) Mjolhus, Killdeer, ND; step-daughters, Jane Vaagen, Mesa, AZ, Susan (Gary) Mittlestadt, Dickinson, ND, Karen Wiesz, Bismarck, ND; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Severson, Taylor, ND and brother, Virgil Reetz, Spokane, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Reginald Reetz and grandson, Jason Treib.
