A Liturgy of the Word for Stephen “Steve” Wolf, 69, of Dickinson will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Inurnment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum.

Steve passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.

Stephen Anton Wolff was born on June 27, 1955 in Washington D.C. to William and Elizabeth (Goroski) Wolff. He attended school in Dickinson at St. Joseph’s Elementary School, Hagen Junior High, and Dickinson High School. He earned his GED in 1973.

Steve joined the army after high school. He entered the service at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri and later attended training in Colorado Springs. He was honorably discharged after ten months.

Steve married Gail Jilek on May 24, 1978. They had two children, Chansy and Cassidy. Steve worked in the oilfield for most of his life, starting his career at Ratliff Drilling and working his way up to a driller.

Steve and Gail’s brother, Dale, went on a once of a lifetime hunt to Canada in 1982, where they spent ten days. Steve was able to shoot a moose, caribou, and a mountain goat, while Dale shot a bear, moose, and a mountain goat. The pair made many great memories during that time.

On May 6, 1995, Steve married Candace Schneider. Through their marriage, Steve gained another daughter, Jessie, who he loved and cared for like his own.

Steve enjoyed coin and silver collecting with Jessie’s husband, Trent. He also loved to play poker, blackjack, and pool. Steve’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He loved taking them to the park and riding bike with them. He will be greatly missed.

Steve is survived by his wife, Candace; children, Chansy Wolff of Dickinson, Cassidy (Noah) Zeiser of San Diego, CA, and Jessie (Trent) Sickler of Dickinson; three grandchildren, Styrling, Reece, and Ava; brother, Dwayne (Julie) Wolff of Littleton, CO; sister, Yvonne Keniston of Bismarck; sister-in-law, LaVonne (Pat) Schwartzenberger of Mandan; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Curt Bogan, Curtis Bogan, and Lucas Stewart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth; parents-in-law, Richard and Lorine Schneider; and his grandparents.
