A Family receiving Friends service for Steven Parker, 53, of Dickinson, will be held 10:00 a. m. to 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with military rights presented by the Dickinson Honor Guard. Steve passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson. Steve, better known as Sparker, was born July 10, 1961, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Delmas Vearl and Lois Ann (Sims) Parker. Growing up he attended school and graduated from Grand Forks. Following graduation, he enlisted into the US Navy in 1980 and served four years. He later re-enlisted in the US Army in 1991, serving until February 1993. Steve than began his career with Remco Software, where he was currently employed, completing 21 years of service with the company. Steve and Heidi Knous were married January 1, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV. The most important thing to Steve were his friends, riding his motorcycle and their rides together. Anytime Steve entered a room, it became a better place for all his friends, filled with humor and fun. He was very proud of his time spent with Remco Software and his time serving our country. Steven is survived by his wife, Heidi Parker; nephew, Chris; and many friends, three special friends standing in for the family are Scott Wade and Joe (Tina) Simon, both of Dickinson and Wade (Shannon) Strilcov of Billings, MT. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
