Mass of Christian burial for Steve Seiler, 73, of Dickinson will be 10 a. m. , Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a. m. – 9 p. m. Friday, November 28, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with rosary and vigil service at 7 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Steve passed away November 25, 2008 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson, ND. Steve Seiler was born March 6, 1935, the son of Stephen and Regina (Anton) Seiler in Lefor, ND. He grew up and attended St. Patrick?s grade school and graduated from Dickinson High in 1953. Steve and MaryAnn Kuntz were united in marriage on May 28, 1953 in Dickinson. They have made Dickinson their home and raised their four children. He began working for S & L Department Store as a salesman. On March 17, 1956, Steve began working for Northern Pacific Railroad as a railroad brakeman. His career spanned a lifetime with the railroads, ending as a conductor for Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in 1994. Steve enjoyed following his grandchildren in their baseball, basketball, football, band, choir and tennis activities. They were the ?traveling grandparents? following the kids to any and all events. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, Elks member, United Transportation Union and a charter member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He is survived by: wife, MaryAnn, Dickinson, ND; sons, Chuck (Lynda) Seiler, West Concord, MN and Tim (Cora) Seiler, Dickinson, ND; daughters, Janet (Greg) Heidt, Dickinson, ND and Barb (Greg) Friedt, Eagle, ID; 9 grandchildren, Melissa (Daniel) Holmen, Ashley, Nathan and Eric Seiler, Brittany, Michael and Amanda Heidt, Katelyn and Zane Friedt; one great grandchild, Susan Holmen; sisters, Grace (Lyle) Tommerdahl, Oakdale, MN and Judy (Dan) Sheridan, Truth or Consequences, NM. He is preceded in death by: both parents, brothers, Harry and Emil Seiler; sisters, Helen Wallace, Lillian Lavoie, Loretta Dahlin, Renie Vogal, Joyce Banta and Regina Seiler.
