Steve went to be with his Lord Jesus on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Steve was born January 18, 1937 at Snow, ND, the son of Paul H. and Polly (Gawryluk) Sivak. Growing up he attended school in the country and in Belfield. He went to work on various farms in the area, also helping out on the farms of relatives in his early years. Steve worked for various contractors on the completion of I-94 from Belfield to the Montana border in the early 60’s. He was also employed at John’s Standard Service for a few years and at the Union Carbide uranium pits around Belfield. Steve later went to work for various utility and pipeline companies in the Belfield and Watford City areas. He enjoyed automobiles and farm machinery and spent many hours looking through auto and farm equipment magazines. If he watched tv, it was old western movies. He was an admirer of fine watches and over the years, he accumulated a nice collection. At a relatively young age, due to a number of health issues, Steve entered the Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer, later transferring to St. Luke’s Home. He liked to sit outside, bird watch and feed the squirrels. Before becoming bed-ridden, he enjoyed and looked forward to being driven around out in the country and trips to the farm by family members. Steve is survived by his brothers, Paul and Charles Sivak of Dickinson, Emil of Orlando, FL; sister, Virginia (Bob) Holland of Dickinson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Polly Sivak; three sisters, Agnes Papka, Marilyn Reisneauer, Jan Kadrmas; and nephew, Craig Kadrmas.
