Susan Hecker

A Funeral Mass for Susan Hecker, 58, of Dickinson, will be 11:00 a. m. , Thursday, July 16, 2015 at St. Wenceslaus Church in Dickinson with Monsignor Patrick Schumacher celebrating. Cremation will take place following mass. Visitation for Susan will be 5:00 p. m. -7:00 p. m. , Wednesday, July 15 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary/Vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Susan passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND. Susan was born November 30, 1956 in Dickinson to James and Lillian (Barta) Gulka. She grew up and attended school in New Hradec and Dickinson. After graduating from high school, Susan began working for her family’s business, Four Seasons Sports. She was the parts manager there for many years. Susan married Bruce Hecker on June 7, 1977 in Dickinson and to this union their daughter Stacey was born. They later divorced. She enjoyed outdoors activities, yard work, and riding motorcycle. Susan also liked playing and listening to music as well as painting. Often times when little ones were around, she could be found playing with them with puppets or tinkering with their toys. Susan was a kind, caring person who was helpful to many over the years. Most of all, her pride and joy were her three beloved grandchildren. Susan is survived by her daughter, Stacey (Mike) Gannon of Glen Ullin, ND; three grandchildren: Mackenzi, Kiah, and Eastyn; two brothers: James A. (Janice) Gulka of Tucson, AZ and Terry (Donna) Gulka of Dickinson; a sister, Debra Anderson of Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Linda Gould and Joann Bonomo.
