Susie Deck

Graveside Services for Susie E. Deck, 94, of Dickinson, ND, formerly of San Diego, CA will be 1:00 p. m. Friday, September 14, 2007 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA. Susie passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson, ND. Susie E Deck was born February 3, 1913 to Julian and Atanacio (Borrego) Espinosa in Silver City, NM. She grew up there and attended grade school. After School she began working at the local J. C. Penny Store in Silver City. It was during this time that she met and married Ben E. Deck Jr. The two were married on April 30, 1936 in Silver City, NM. They made their home in Silver City as they raised their two children. In 1967 the family moved to Albuquerque, NM for a few years before settling in San Diego, CA. Susie and Ben lived there for nearly 30 years. In 2003 she moved with her daughter to Dickinson, ND. Susie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially if that time was spent shopping. She was always on the go and thoroughly enjoyed life, every day. She is survived by her son, Jim (Sandy) Deck of San Diego, CA; daughter Joyce (Jon) Virt of Dickinson, ND; a sister, Adis Marquez of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Susie was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Ben; four siblings, Severo Espinosa, Julian Espinosa Jr. , Lupe Gryalba and Henry Espinosa.
