Theodore Albert Hepperle was born October 11, 1931, the son of Albert and Louise (Bechtold) Hepperle. As a child, Ted grew up in his family?s grocery store and helping the area farmers. After graduating from Plevna High School in 1949, he then continued his education at the University of MT, Missoula studying pre-med. In 1951 Ted enlisted in the US Air Force. He served some time in England and was always willing to tell stories about his experiences there. In 1956 Ted married Viola Darlene Follmer at the 1st Baptist Church in Plevna. The couple made their home in Butte Montana working for Northwest Airlines. In 1957 they returned to Plevna and took over the family general merchandise store. Ted remained in the grocery/merchandise business serving the community for 37 years. In 1994 he suffered a stroke which caused them to sell the business and retire. Ted was active in the church serving as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He also served as town counsel men for Plevna for many years. Ted loved to visit with everyone, as no one was a stranger. His greatest love was his family, and he always waited for his grand kids to visit so he could share his secret candy stash with them. Ted has always had a dream and love for airplanes and flying. Just recently in celebration of his 80th birthday, Dean, Jay and Zach surprised him with an airplane ride over the Baker/Plevna area.
