Funeral services for Edwina Stoddard, 89, of Baker will be 1:00 pm. Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, Montana. According to Teddy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Inurnment will follow in Bonnievale Cemetery.

Teddy passed away October 24, 2024 at Dahl Memorial Healthcare in Ekalaka, MT.

Edwina Jean “Teddy” Stoddard was born August 11, 1935 in Belle Fourche, SD, the daughter of Edwin “Frank” and Neva Jean (Craig) Evans. She grew up, attended school and graduated from Belle Fourche School. She went on to continue her education at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO where she majored in animal production and graduated in the last class of Colorado A&M. A few of Teddy’s school involvements were, Delta Delta Delta Sorority, Rodeo Club, Girls Mounted Quadrille, 1st Black Hills Roundup Rodeo Queen, Bit & Spur Belle Fourche Riding Club, High School Homecoming Queen and Girls State representative. On June 7, 1959, Edwina married J. Lawrence II “Larry” Stoddard on the ranch in Belle Fourche, SD. To this union, Russell, J Lawrence, Diana and Janice were born. Teddy was a devoted homemaker while raising her children. She worked as an EMT from 1990 – 2007. Teddy was also a primary teacher for the L.D.S. Church. She was involved with the RSVP, Fallon County Sr. Citizens-treasurer, Order of the Eastern Star -Chapter #60 -Past Worthy Matron of 7 years, Sagebrush Sisters Red Hat Society, Fallon County Dispatcher, E.M.T. /hospital work, Pink Ladies and 2002 Baker Senior Citizen of the Year. Teddy had lived in Faulkton, SD, Orange City, IA, Belle Fourche, SD, Ekalaka, MT and Baker, MT throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, class reunions, riding her scooter and especially time with her family. She was very adventurous and didn’t shy away from rappelling, raft trips, shooting long range, and loved to see America’s parks, especially Montana.

Teddy is survived by her children, Russell J. (Brenda) Stoddard of Baker, J Lawrence III of Gilette, WY, Diana Stoddard of Miles City, MT and Janice (Rob) Cadle of Columbus, MT; four grandchildren, Lauren, Talon, Joshua and Ashley, as step grandson, Hank and 4 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Steven Evans of Belle Fourche, SD and her brother-in-law Bert Stoddard of Broadus, MT, nephew Brad Stoddard of Broadus, MT and a niece Robbin Stoddard of Belgrade, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Larry and her sister-in-law, Nancy Stoddard.

Teddy requested no flowers at her service. She wanted only sage, pine boughs or wildflowers. In lieu of flowers, if you would like, please make a donation in her honor to Shriner’s Children Hospital. She also requested no one wear black, she asked for bright colors and a celebration of her life and her meeting with Jesus.
