Funeral Services for Thelma Louise Fenton, 90 of Killdeer will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Killdeer with Pastor Aanen Gjovik officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 18, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Killdeer. Thelma passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006 in Rapid City, SD. Thelma was born September 18, 1915 on the family farm in Dunn County, the daughter of Clarence “Punch” and Mathilda (Dahl) Edwards. She attended Killdeer Public Schools, graduating in 1933. Thelma and George Fenton were married June 18, 1935 at the Fenton Ranch. In the late 40?s, Thelma and Lucille Fitzlaugh briefly ran a dress shop in Killdeer. Thelma was Red Cross Home Service Chairman for Dunn County during the 50?s as well as a 4-H Leader for a number of years. She held offices in LCW of St. John?s Lutheran Church in Killdeer. Thelma had been a member of N.D. Cowbelles, American National Cattlemen, Past President of Hill Top Heritage Foundation Board and Killdeer Homemakers. At the time of her death, she was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church, NDCHF Trustee, ND Stockmans Association, Elks and a local Bridge Club. Survivors include her daughters: Carol (Dave) Nygaard, Bowman, ND, Lois (Thorvald) Bang, Killdeer, ND, Elaine (Sid) Stromme, Manhattan, MT, Jane (Bob) Schettler, Killdeer, ND; a sister, Florence Wetsch; a brother, Tom Edwards, Killdeer, ND; two sisters-in-law, Frances Fenton, Barstow, CA and Phyllis Edwards, Detroit, MI; fifteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Fenton in 1993; a brother, David Edwards; a sister, Ione Ungerecht and two sisters-in-law, Helen Evenson and Grace Smith. Memorials may be given to St. John?s Lutheran Church, Hill Top Heritage Foundation or a charity of your choice
