Ted passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson.

Theodore Anthony Klein was born May 10, 1939 in Dickinson, ND, the son of Lillian (Schmidt) and John Klein Jr. Ted grew up in Dickinson and attended grade school at St. Joseph’s Catholic School. He graduated from Dickinson High School with the class of 1958. On May 10, 1962, Ted enlisted in the US Army. After being Honorably Discharged on May 9, 1964, Ted returned to Dickinson. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Myra Burwick. The couple was united in marriage on August 25, 1965. To the union, two daughters were born: Rozell and Garnet. Together, the couple made their home and raised their daughters in Dickinson.

Ted was an amazing chef. He began his career working at the Esquire Steakhouse in 1967. Ted and Myra operated the Little Missouri Steakhouse for a short time before beginning his 20 plus year career at the K of C Club in Dickinson; where he made deep fried turkey a popular item for weddings, anniversaries and holiday banquets. Ted truly loved going to work each day and was currently employed with the Ramada Grand Dakota Lodge. His co-workers were his second family and lovingly called him “The Grill Master”. Ted was a true handy man and spent many hours in his garage woodworking. Myra, Rozell and Garnet were the lucky recipients of many special gifts that they will treasure forever. He spent many hours reading, collecting stamps and trains. His faith in God and his family were of the utmost importance. He loved the time he spent with his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they brought him great joy. Ted was so excited for the arrival of his twin great-grandbabies in May. He and his humble goodness will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Ted is survived by his wife of 50 years, Myra; daughters and sons-in-law, Rozell & Randy Unruh, and Garnet & Lee Tisor; grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Schneibel, Nicole (John) Cloutier, Ryan (Lacey) Unruh, Emalee (Jon) Erickson, Logan Tisor, Morgan Tisor, Siena Unruh, and Jack Unruh; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Liam, Kaden, & Elliana Cloutier, Tahlia Schneibel, Mason Erickson, and Aurora & Cecelia Unruh; brothers, Jim (Alice), John, Dale (Susie), and Tim; sisters, Loretta (Clyde) Boyko, Bernadette Seagrave, Joann Fortier, Mary Ann (Vince) Donovan, Jane Aragon, Gale Westrum, and Carol (Doug) Rambousek; brothers-in-law, Dale (Judy) Burwick, Dean (Marilyn) Burwick and Barry (Lisa) Burwick; sisters-in-law, Garnet Wock, Tess (Tom) Ehli, and Marlo (Ryan) Nelson; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milo and Rosie Burwick; brothers, Robert and Terrance; and great-granddaughter, Lily Jo Tisor.
