A funeral service for Theodore “Teddy” Poirier, 50, of Hebron will be 11:00 a.m. CDT, Friday, October 13, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Hebron with Pastor David Ling officiating.
Visitation for Teddy will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT, Thursday, October 12 at the church.
Teddy passed away, October 3, 2017 at CHI. St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.
Theodore Gerald Poirier was born October 5, 1966 in Groton, Massachusetts, the son of Theodore and Marilyn (Dewar) Poirier. Teddy attended school and graduated from Leominster High School with the class of 1984. After graduation, Teddy worked various construction jobs until moving to Hawaii in 1989. While living in Hawaii, he took classes to become a counselor to help challenged young adolescents. Teddy also started his own mechanic business while in Hawaii. His daughter, Chelsea was born on June 17, 1990. Teddy then moved to Florida where he became a certified ASE mechanic and worked for Chevrolet for many years. His son, Anthony was born on September 20, 2006. In 2013, Teddy moved to Hebron where he worked the oil fields. One evening, Teddy saw JR Zuroff working in his garage at Zuroff Repair and asked him if he needed any help. JR hired Teddy and he started work the following Monday. Teddy was so proud to work alongside JR. His family is forever grateful for the town of Hebron for welcoming Teddy and making him family. Teddy’s family meant the world to him. He was so proud of his children.
Teddy is survived by his mother, Marilyn of Monore, NC; sisters, Lisa Silva of Palm Bay, FL, and Carla Poirier, of Monroe, NC; children, Chelsea Bourne of Athol, MA and son, Anthony A. Poirier of Palm Bay, FL; granddaughter, Ryleigh Bourne; half-siblings, Mark Poirier, Cheryl Molighan, and Debbie Hickey; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his second family, JR and Sharla Zuroff of Hebron.
He is preceded in death by his father, Theodore G. Poirier Sr., and his nephew, Anthony J. Cimino.
