Funeral Mass for Theresa Knaup, 93, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, March 22, 2010, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father James Braaten celebrating. Burial will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Gladstone at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday, March 21, 2010, from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. Theresa passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson. Theresa was born on January 29, 1917 the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Weber) Bayer. She grew up and attended country school near Lefor. As a young girl, she began working on the farm helping to raise her brothers and sisters. She married Lawrence M. Knaup on November 27, 1934, in Lefor, and together they farmed, ranched and raised their family. To this union, seven boys and five girls were born: Charles, Charlene, Daniel, Delores, Philip, Richard, Anna Marie, Angeline, Shirley, Ronald, Francis and Roger were born. Theresa enjoyed sewing, crafts, crocheting, baking and gardening. She made many of the clothes that her children and grandchildren wore. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, a past member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Thomas Alter Society and the Kayceetts. Most Sundays were spent having fried chicken and chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles. Theresa?s apple pies were made on cookie sheets so that there was enough to go around. All twelve children knew when they were in trouble when mom shook her finger at them. Theresa is survived by her sons Daniel (Virginia) Knaup, Dickinson, Philip (Betty) Knaup, Dickinson, Ronald (Diane) Knaup, Minot, Francis (Marla) Knaup, Dickinson, and Roger (Karen) Knaup, Billings, MT; daughters Charlene (Pat) Mischel, Richardton, Delores (Maurice) Muth, Billings, MT, Anna Marie (Ed) Stockert, Dickinson, Angeline Hellman, Dickinson, and Shirley (Larry) Fettig, Dickinson;;; a sister, Anna (Albert) Sevela, Dickinson; a daughter-in-law Hilda Knaup, Beulah, ND; a brother-in-law, Frank Reindel, Sacramento, CA; two sister-in-laws, Angeline Bayer, Dickinson, ND and Bertha Bayer, Sacramento, CA; 27 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; sons Charles and Richard; daughter-in-law Marlene; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
