Funeral Mass for Theresa Koppinger 96, of Dickinson is 10:00 am, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Rev. Jim Braaten celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 pm at the Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at Stevenson?s Funeral Home. Theresa passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Theresa Knaup was born on September 20, 1913 the daughter of Mathias and Theresa (Hack) Knaup. She grew up and attended country school in Stark County. Theresa was married to Nick Koppinger at St. Elizabeth?s Catholic Church in Lefor, North Dakota on October 6, 1930. Together they farmed and raised their six children, John, Rosemary, Max, Richard, Bob and Jerry. After moving into Dickinson Theresa worked as a cook for several school hot lunch programs and also cooked at the German Hungarian Club. Theresa enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and reading. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family and baking goodies for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all called her the roll grandma. She was a member of the Lefor Christian Mothers, German Hungarian Club, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and St. Wenceslaus Altar Society. Survivors include, a daughter, Rosemary Riesinger, Dickinson, ND; three sons, Max (Bea) Koppinger, Glendive, MT, Richard (Whitey) Koppinger, Dickinson and Bob (Vernice) Koppinger, Marshall, MN; one daughter-in-law, Eleanor (Cliff) Walter; 24 grandchildren and 52 great-granchildren; 9 great-great grandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nick, two sons, Jerry and John, a brother, Lawrence; a sister Catherine; a daughter-in-law, Alice; a son-in-law, Frank D. Riesinger; an infant grandson and two infant great-grandchildren. Due to the season of Lent, in lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
