A Funeral Mass for Theresa Renner, 94, of Glen Ullin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. CT Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Father Gary Benz celebrating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
A rosary will be said and visitation will take place from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. CT at the church.
Theresa passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 at Marian Manor in Glen Ullin.
Theresa F. was born in Glen Ullin on February 20, 1930, the daughter of Philip A. and Rose (Deitz) Geck. Theresa attended country school and helped out on her family farm with chores and her nine siblings. Theresa married Edward Renner on October 17, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple was blessed with nine children. The family farmed northeast of Glen UIlin until 1965 when they moved into town. Theresa shared her love of cooking, as a cook, at various cafes in town. She also worked as a cook for many years at the Glen Ullin Public School, until her retirement. She was involved in the Glen Ullin American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Christian Mothers, Glory and Praise Choir, and Vacation Bible School. Theresa enjoyed painting, crocheting, gardening, canning, and reading books.
Theresa’s family would like to thank the staff at Marian Manor for all the love and care they gave her.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Judy (Myron) Pfeifle of Bismarck; Joyce (Trice) Miller of Glen Ullin; Jacque Sayotovich of Isanti, MN; Jeanne (Greg) Voegele of New Salem; son, Jeff (Corrie) Renner; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Richard Geck of Pompeys Piller, MT; Arlene Urff of Arlington, MA; Phyllis Teague (Brownie) of Clovis, NM; Robert (Lois) Geck of Glen Ullin; Dennis (Kathy) Geck of Mesa, AZ; Nadine (Dennis) DelaBarre of Bismarck; Kellan (Licia) Geck of Gilbert, AZ; brother-in-law, LeRoy Thomas of Missoula, MT; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Geck of Selah, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; parents, Philip and Rose Geck; children, Janet, John, Julie and Jamie; son-in-law, Paul Sayotovich; grandson, Trent Pfeifle; great-granddaughter, Shaelyn Hellon; brothers, Clem “Bud” Geck and Donald Geck.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the North Dakota Cystic Fibrosis Association.
