Funeral Mass for Theresa Schwindt, 88 of Killdeer will be 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer with Father Jerry Ruelle OSB, celebrating. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26, 2006 from 2:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer. Theresa passed away Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer. Theresa was born March 14, 1918 at Dickinson, the daughter of Mike and Eva (Stroh) Heiser. She grew up north of New Hradec where she attended the local country school and helped on the farm. On October 24, 1933, Theresa was married to Edward Schwindt at Dickinson. The couple eventually made their home on a farm south of Dunn Center where they began their family to which they were blessed with five children. In 1953, they moved to Killdeer where they owned and operated Ed?s Club. Theresa made many long lasting friends over the years as she managed the Club until 1970 when they retired. Theresa opened up a daycare service in her home and operated it over the next ten years. In 2002, she entered Hill Top Home of Comfort where she spent her last years. Theresa was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer. She loved to walk and logged in four miles a day until she was 80. Theresa also enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, cross-stitching and reminisced of her times butchering chickens. Survivors include: a son, Val Schwindt, Kersey, CO; three daughters: Florine (Alex) Lazorenko, Linda (Rick) Reems and Jackie Olson all of Killdeer, ND; two sisters: Barbara Krenzel, Dickinson, ND and Beta McKnight, Great Falls, MT; a sister-in-law, Lena Heiser, Killdeer, ND; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; a daughter, Angie Chays; three son-in-laws: Sammy Chays, Kevin Olson and Londell Olson; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Schwindt; three brothers: Tony, Max and Ralph Heiser; and a sister, Katie Chadwick.
