Funeral Mass for Thomas Dvorak, 87, of Dickinson, ND will be 10 AM, Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery later this spring. Visitation will be 11 AM to 9 PM, Wednesday, March 11 with a Rosary and Vigil service at 7 PM. Thomas passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at St. Benedict?s Health Care Center in Dickinson, ND. Thomas A. Dvorak was born December 3, 1921 in Dickinson, ND to Joseph and Anna (Splichal) Dvorak. He grew up south of Dickinson on the family farm and attended country grade school. After school Tom worked locally for Binek?s and later WPA in Medora, where he helped build visitor shelters. He met and later married Rose Lech at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union three children were born; Linda, Thomas and Joan. After marriage, Tom farmed on his own and worked at Kolling Construction for over 25 years. After Rose passed away, Tom later married Mary Splichal. During this time, Tom enjoyed traveling to see his family. Tom and Mary made their home in Dickinson until the time of her death. Tom continued to make his home in Dickinson, later moving into St. Benedict?s in 2008, where he resided until the time of his death. Tom was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church along with the St. Anthony Club. He was an avid card player and thoroughly enjoyed listening to his Czech music. He is survived by his children: Linda Rehurek, Fargo, ND, Thomas (Karen) Dvorak, Berthoud, CO and Joan (Dennis) Kinnischtzke, Mankato, MN; grandchildren: Brian, Tamara and Sara Rehurek, Tessa, Sophie and Marc Dvorak, Amanda and Laura Kinnischtzke; step-children: Don, Gene and Dean Splichal, Jerri Schulz, Marlene Hoffman, Darlene Schwartz, Rita Kostelecky, Mary Ann Schwindt and Connie Hanel; two brothers, Stanley Dvorak, Dickinson and Vince Dvorak, AZ; a sister, Emma Sanders, Dickinson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and step-grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by both parents; first wife Rose and second wife Mary and several brothers and sisters.
