A Funeral Mass for Tillie Havelka, 95, of Bismarck formerly of Dickinson will be held at 11:00 a.m., MT., Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Brandon Wolf celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s and Paul Cemetery in New Hradec.
Visitation for Tillie will be one hour prior to the service at the church with a rosary being said at 10:30 am., MT.
Tillie passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Missouri Slope in Bismarck.
Tillie Havelka was born September 27, 1928 in Dickinson to John and Mary (Ridl) Havelka. She attended country school for 8 years and then stayed back to help on her family farm. Tillie decided to go back to school in Havre, MT where she received her GED and also took classes for nursing. Tillie’s nursing career took her all over Montana and to Seattle, WA, until she decided she needed to be closer to family. She moved back and started working at MedCenter One in Bismarck and then on to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson.
Tillie loved to travel and went on many bus tours. She also enjoyed playing a good game of pinochle.
Tillie is survived by her sister, Mary Ann (Ernie) Fitterer; sister-in-law; JoAnn Havelka; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; brothers, Joe (Tillie), George (Beata), Laudie (Bridget), Robert (Marge), David, and Otto Havelka; and sisters, Lillian (Joe) Wegh and Marge (Otto) Karsky.
