A funeral Mass for Tim Kostelecky, 60, of Dickinson, will be 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Jordan Dosch celebrating. Military Rites will be presented by the Dickinson American Legion Post #3 Honor Guard. Burial will take place in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
Visitation for Tim will be 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 2 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:00 p.m.
Tim passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Miller Pointe in Mandan.
Timothy Gordon Kostelecky was born October 19, 1957 in Dickinson, the son of Edwin A. and Dorothy J. (Hibl) Kostelecky. He attended school in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School in 1976. After graduation, Tim served in the US Army National Guard until he was honorably discharged following a motorcycle accident in March of 1977. Tim married Charlene Schmaltz. The couple was blessed with a son, Tyler. Tim worked for Wisco Industrial Supply, Advanced Fluids, and later part time for Alan Woodbury at Woody’s Feed and Grain. He was also grateful for the friendships and time he spent delivering for Woody’s Feed. In recent years Tim enjoyed driving cab in Dickinson. Tim loved attending rodeos around southwest North Dakota and catching up with his friends. He had friends everywhere he went. No one remained a stranger for long around Tim. He was a man with a cheerful spirit, who loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, Kendyl and Shaylee. He will be remembered for his friendly demeanor, skill in telling stories with great detail, and caring nature he showed to all the lives he touched.
Tim is survived by his mother, Dorothy J. Kostelecky; son, Tyler (Lacey) Kostelecky of Hettinger; granddaughters, Kendyl and Shaylee Kostelecky; brothers, Russ (Joan) Kostelecky of Dickinson, Mike (Bobbi) Kostelecky of Grand Junction, CO, Jeff (LeeAnn) Kostelecky of Dickinson; sisters, Carol (John) Degenstein of Dickinson, Sue (Dale) Klein of The Colony, TX, Dorene (Jeff Thompson) Kostelecky-Wheeler of Elko, NV, Mary (Dennis) Zastoupil of Dickinson; nieces and nephews, Kim, Jodi, Lili, Rebecca, Jessie, Aaron, Lora, Coy, Drew, Christine, Chris, Kasey, McKenna; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin A. Kostelecky (2011); an infant brother, Christopher; and his grandparents.
