Treyson passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 in Dickinson.
Treyson James Ficek was born on July 30, 2017 in Dickinson to Jeremy and Liza (Marcusen) Ficek. He grew up in the Ficek family as the third of four children. Treyson was all “boy;” he enjoyed sports, video games, riding bike, and climbing any obstacle put in front of him. Treyson always looked forward to fishing and golfing with his dad. He was naturally athletic from an early age, learning to ride bike, golf, and swim with minimal instruction. This athleticism allowed Treyson to excel at T-ball, wrestling, basketball, and golf. He was a huge fan of Legos and Star Wars, and if the Legos were Star Wars, even better. His prized possessions were his “deer blank,” Pokemon cards, BB gun, and Lego sets. He cherished his trips to the farm to spend time with his family. He adored his cousins and grandparents, never missing an opportunity to be with them.
Treyson was known as the family hugger. He started and ended every visit with an enthusiastic bear hug. He also never missed an opportunity to cuddle with his mom or dad. He had a caring heart from an early age, looking after his friends to make sure they were included in activities and received an equitable if not better present or portion than his own. Treyson knew his time on earth was nothing when compared to the joy he would have with his Savior in heaven, where he would be reunited with his grandpa James. Treyson will be remembered for his caring heart, joy-filled life, and love for Jesus.
He is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Liza; siblings, Trevin, Hazel, and Zane; grandparents, Jean Marcusen and Herman and Brenda Ficek; great-grandparents, Richard and Luella Dvorak; aunts and uncles, Nathan and Emily Marcusen, Leanna and Stephen Backes; Nick and Jessica Dukart; Jonathan and Stephanie Ficek; and 19 cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa James Marcusen and great-grandparents, Bud and Ethelyn Marcusen, Otto and Dorothy Ficek, and Ingvald and Clara Paulson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to The Gideons International or Samaritan’s Purse in memory of Treyson.
