She grew up on a farm South of Hebron and attended country school nearby. She spent her younger years at home helping cook, sew and care for her younger siblings. Ursula was confirmed in the St. John Church in 1931. In 1933 she met Paul Kraenzel when he worked for her dad on the farm. She attended college at Wahpeton for one semester where she took a number of sewing classes. She and Paul were engaged at Christmas of that year and were married June 10, 1940, at St. John church, in a morning ceremony, officiated by Pastor Henry Kroehler. They lived at Paul?s parents farm North of Hebron before starting their own farm in Farmer?s Valley area. Ursula was a giving person, a loving wife and mother. She was happy and satisfied with the simple things in life. She cooked for many threshing and silage cutting crews, planted a big garden, canned, raised chickens, and boarded school teachers. She was an excellent homemaker; cooking, baking, and sewing were her specialties. She loved to sew and could make ?something from nothing?. Ursula was a charter member of the Happy Homemakers Club, and the St. John Women?s Guild. She and Paul enjoyed square dancing and singing songs in German and English. Ursula and Paul left their farm in April 2001 to move to the Marian Manor Estates in Glen Ullin. She entered the Marian Manor Healthcare Center in September of 2006. Those left to share the legacy of her love include one son and daughter-in-law: Clyde and Bonnie Kraenzel, Hebron; and one daughter and son-in-law: Jane and Roger Kinnischtzke, Glen Ullin, ND; seven grandchildren: Jody, Shawn, Douglas and Dave Kraenzel, Rita Ormiston, Carmen Brice?o, and Kylene Kinnischtzke; and eight great grand children. She is also survived by three sisters: Ruth Rehm, Monroe, WA; Gladys Duppong, Iowa City, IA; Hurdis (Ron) Griffith, Arlington, VA; and three brothers: Roland (Ruth) Hoerauf, Fargo, ND; Willard (Terri) Hoerauf, Indian Hills, CO; and Lyle (Lynda) Hoerauf, Hebron, ND.
