A funeral mass for Vern Honeymann, 82, will be Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:00 a. m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New England with Father Biju Chitteth celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New England. Vern passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2015 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson. Vern was born March 29, 1933 in New England, the son of William L. and Magdalene (Bambusch) Honeymann. Growing up, he attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in New England through the ninth grade. In 1952, Vern went to serve our country with the United States Navy. He served in the Korean War from 1952-1956 and in the Vietnam War from 1963-1965 when he was honorably discharged. After the Navy he went to work for Boeing aircraft until he retired in 1995. Vern returned to New England where he was active with the American Legion and the Anton Ulijohn Post #0066. He was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Vern enjoyed model trainsets and he was a collector of model airplanes, state flags, hats and belt buckles. Vern is survived by his sisters, Susan Brooks of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Caroline Camp of Covington, PA, Yvonne Fettig of New England, Mary Ann (Bill) Kelly of Klamath Falls, OR and Kathleen (Leo) Heck of Avon, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Magdalene Honeymann; brother, Richard; sisters, Arlene Olsby and JoAnn Edwards.
