Vern Korth, 80, Dickinson, died Monday, February 27, 2006 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Funeral services are 11 a. m. , Friday, March 3, 2006 at Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church, New England, with Chaplain James Oakland officiating. Interment will be in Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be 11 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Thursday, March 2, 2006 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a prayer service at 7 p. m. Visitation will continue Friday at the church one hour prior to the service. Vern Korth was born May 17, 1925 in DeSart, ND to Frank and Margaret (Meyer) Korth. He attended school in Carroll Township. He married Esther Mayer on August 22, 1955. He farmed until 1966, when they moved to New England. Vern worked for Farmers Union until 1975. He returned to farming and farmed until 1999, when he retired. Vern enjoyed dancing, fishing, driving around the countryside, carpentry work, and staying busy. Vern is survived by: his wife, Esther, Dickinson; one daughter, Lana (Clyde) Ruff, New Leipzig, ND; one son, Dean (Kim) Korth, Dickinson; one daughter-in-law, Katie Korth, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Jed (Robin) Korth, Jeremy Korth, Rachel Ruff and Alex Korth; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter, and one sister, Frances Kipp, Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by: one son, Dennis; his parents; one sister, Bernice Jalbert; and two brothers-in-law, Tony Kipp and Lloyd Jalbert.
