Funeral mass for Vi Kappel, 82, of Dickinson, will be 2:00 p. m. Thursday, November 15, 2007 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Austin Vetter celebrating. Burial will take place Friday, November 16, 2007 at the North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery in Mandan, ND. Visitation will be from 9:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church with a Rosary and Vigil Service taking place at 7:00 p. m. Vi passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Vi Kappel was born June 7, 1925 to Anton and Amelia (Hellenbeck) Feiler in Dickinson, ND. She grew up and attended grade school in Gladstone, ND and graduated from Gladstone High School. On April 10, 1947 Vi married Joe Kappel at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Gladstone. The couple made their home in Dickinson where they were blessed with five children. In addition to raising her family, Vi worked in fashion retail for over 45 years, 25 of which was as a store manager. She took great joy in supporting and helping with Joe?s Diaconate responsibilities at St. Patrick?s. Vi?s church was very important to her and she was very active in helping with various organizations such as; Liturgical and Environment Committee; Grand Regent of Catholic Daughters; President of Legion of Mary; Lector; Eucharistic Minister at St. Pat?s and St. Benedict?s Health Center. Her family and friends will always remember Vi as a very generous, compassionate, and caring person. Vi is survived by her husband, Joe; two sons, Jeff (Arlene) Kappel of Dickinson, ND; Craig Kappel of Dickinson; three daughters, Brenda (Steve) Juhasz; of Denver, CO; Pam (Ernie) Maglischo of Denver, CO; Mary Jo (Michael) Fontaine of Denver, CO; a step-son, Jace (Jan) Huenemeier of Visalia, CA ; a brother, Tony Feiler of Mansfield, OH; eight grandchildren, Wade (Tracie) Flemmer; Dawn Kappel; Melissa Kappel; Krista (Chris) O?Leary; Lindsay Juhasz; Joseph Fontaine; Alex Fontaine; step-granddaughter, Janell Huenemeier; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Flemmer and Logan Flemmer. She was preceded by both of her parents and ten siblings.
