Vincent Steier

Funeral services for Vincent Steier, 76, New England, are 2 p. m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New England with Fr. Basil Atwell, OSB celebrating. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be 12 noon to 9 p. m. on Monday, October 23, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a rosary being said at 7:30 p. m. Vincent passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Vincent Steier was born on November 15, 1930, on the family farm in Stark County, ND to John and Rose (Dukart) Steier. He graduated from the 8th grade from St. Pius School, Schefield. After which he returned to the family farm to work with his father. On June 12, 1951, he married Josephine Sticka at St. Pius Catholic Church, Schefield. Vincent and Josephine later moved to a farm south of Schefield, Vincent remained there until entering St. Benedict?s Health Center in November of 2005. Vincent was a member of the St. Pius Verein and Knights of Columbus Club Council 9675 of New England. Vincent served on the Kunze Township board for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, reading, watching the news and bowling. Vincent is survived by: his wife, Josephine, New England; twelve sons, Curtis (Carol), Bismarck, Conrad (Charlotte), Fargo, Gerry (Dorma), Bismarck, Neal (Arva), Dickinson, Lynn, Cherokee, OK, Gordon, (Linda), Enid, OK, Elwood, Dickinson, Ted (Beth) Enid, OK, Jon (Carrie) Surrey, ND, Lee (Korene) Dickinson, Myron (Kara) Baldwin, ND and Bob (Holly) Steier, Dickinson; 27 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary Fisher, Dickinson, Victoria (Harvey) Herberholz, New England, Bernie (Knott) Minneapolis, MN, Leah (Victor) Wanner Dickinson; one brother, Fred (Geneva) Steier, Dickinson; one sister in law, Dorothy Steier, Dickinson. He was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Rose Steier; one infant son; one brother, Clemens Steier; two brothers in law, Dale Knott, and John Fischer and one nephew Jeffrey Fisher. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to: St. Mary?s Catholic Church437 Main Street New England, ND 58647
