A funeral Mass for Vincent “Vince” Veverka, 78, of South Heart, ND will be 1:00 p. m. , Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in South Heart with Father Bill Ruelle celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation for Vince will be from 3:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. , Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Rosary & Vigil Service being held at 4:00 p. m. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 9:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. at the funeral home. Vince passed away peacefully, at his home in South Heart, on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Vincent was born December 19, 1937 in Dickinson, the son of Vincent and Anna (Jilek) Veverka. He grew up on the family farm and attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. Vince married Ardella Koch on September 12, 1961 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Amidon, ND. The couple was blessed with one son, Raymond. Vince and Ardella farmed most of their life on their farm south of South Heart. Through the years Vince worked at Schnells and later Stockman’s Livestock. He also worked at the Royal Oak from 1979 until it closed. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in South Heart and St. Pius Verein of Scheffield. He loved camping and traveling. He progressed from a little camper, to a big camper, to a Motorhome. Vince enjoyed time spent with his friends, family and grandchildren. He greeted everyone he met with his trademark smile and will be remembered as a happy and kind man. Vince is survived by his wife, Ardella of South Heart; son, Raymond (Susan) Veverka of Dickinson; five grandchildren, Danielle (Alex) Schiff, Katie, Mark, Emma, Grace Veverka all of Dickinson; great-grandson, Blake Schiff; brother, Laudie Veverka of Bismarck; sister, Dorothy (Richard) Fichter of Gladstone. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Steve Sr. (Anna) Jilek and Joe (Mary) Veverka; parents, Vincent and Anna Veverka and sister-in-law, Jannette Veverka.
