Funeral Mass for Viola “Vi” Hartin, 68, of Omaha, NE formerly of Glen Ullin, ND will be 11:00 a. m. CDT, Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Glen Ullin. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p. m. – 8. 00 p. m. CDT with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. , at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Vi passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013 in Omaha, NE. Vi was born December 14, 1944 in Mandan, ND, the daughter of Daniel and Katherine (Heidt) Gartner. She lived in the Glen Ullin area until 1958 when she moved to Bismarck to work and attend community college. In 1968, Vi moved to Sioux City, Iowa to work. It was here that she met Daniel Hartin. The two were marriedon October 2, 1971. In 1985,the couple moved to Omaha, Nebraska where they lived until her death. Vi worked for Security American as an analyst for thelast 20 years until she retired in 2010. She was very active with the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Legion of Maryduring herlife in Omaha. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens, collecting Fenten Glass and Elvis Presley memorabilia and attending auctions looking for a piece to add to her collections. Vi is survived by her husband, Daniel of Omaha, NE; siblings, Willie and Hilda Gartner of West Fargo, ND, Esther and Duane Burman of Sioux Falls, SD, Marlene and Gene Tschosik of Strasburg, ND, Ida Kottenbrock of Bismarck, ND and Rose Mary Ell of North Richland Hills, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Katherine Gartner.
