Violet passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.

Violet Schueler Baird was born in Baker, MT, while living in Calumet, on February 15, 1926 to John J. and Emma (Losing) Schueler. The first 8 years were spent on farms in Plevna and Willard, MT. She attended Mill Creek, Bechtold, and Willard School and graduated from Baker High School in 1944.

Violet worked at Penny’s, Red Owl, Smithy’s Bakery, the Baker Hotel, Economy Grocery, Midland Lumber and Fletcher Creek school on a certificate. She later moved to Seattle and worked for Boeing Air Craft. While working at a Venetian Blind Factory, Violet met Robert Baird and they were married and raised one daughter, Marjorie Baird Kuhner. She also had another daughter that was a still born.

Violet and Bob were married in Miles City and were married over 48 years. They were involved in Cursellis, Walk to Emaus, and Chrysalis. What brought the greatest joy to her outside of her family was the 10 years she took care of the Angel Tree (prison ministry of Chuck Colson) that her church Evangelical United Methodist Church of Billings sponsored. It was a ministry that gave Christmas gifts to children whose parents were in prison sometimes. She recommitted her life to Christ later in life and found herself and the peace that only Jesus can give.  Violet lived in North Adams Ma for 38 years and loved it until she returned to Billings for a short period of time. She then returned to Baker after her husband, Bob, passed away in 1997.

She took many courses in adult Education and went to a Dental assistant course for a year. She enjoyed every moment of it.

Violet leaves behind her daughter, Marjorie Kuhner (Chris), Hampton, NH; grandchildren, Llon Eric Kuhner and Alea Danniel Kuhner; brother, Richard Schueler (Sarah), Billings, MT; sister, Betty Kusler, Baker, MT and brother -in law George Webster, Valdosta, GA many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Schueler; husband, Bob Baird; and infant daughter.

Brother Hebert Schueler,   Sisters-in-law Helen Bruha Schueler and  ShirleyBaird Weberster; and a Brother-in-law LeRoy Kusler.
