Violet Lenore Cretsinger was born a daughter of Guy and Francis (Pausek) Stultz on October 15, 1908 in Saint Paul, MN. At the age of three, Violet moved with her family to Carter County, homesteading south of Medicine Rocks. Violet grew up in the Medicine Rocks area where she attended country school. In 1926, a young man by the name of Mart Cretsinger moved with his family to Carter County. Soon after, the young couple began a courtship. Violet and Mart were married on November 2, 1929 in Baker, MT. To this union a daughter, Darlene was born. Violet and Mart bought the Ward Wills farm south of Willard, where they farmed and raised their daughter. In 1978, they retired, yet they continued to live on the farm until 1990. After Mart?s death on August 19, 1990, Violet moved into Baker where she has lived since. Violet was an excellent gardener and a great cook. She could make a meal, with just a little, to please any guest! Violet attended the Medicine Rocks Church where she served as Sunday School Treasurer. She loved her Lord and enjoyed her service to Him. Her greatest love was for her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Violet is survived by her daughter, Darlene Chester, Baker, MT; three grandchildren, Richard, (Patti) Chester, Baker, MT, Donna (Doug) Rowe, Baker, MT and Beth (Robert) Chester-Oliger, Seattle, WA and six great-grandchildren.
