Funeral Services for Virginia (Schweigert) Gundlach, 76 , of Baker, Montana are 2:00 p. m. Saturday, July 8, 2006 at American Lutheran Church in Baker with Pastor Bruce Kolash officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka. Visitation will be Friday, July 7, 2006 from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. at American Lutheran Church in Baker. Virginia Schweigert Gundlach went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 5, 2006. She passed away due to a massive blood clot to the brain at St. Vincent?s Hospital in Billings, Montana. Virginia R. Gundlach was born November 13, 1929 in Plevna, MT to John and Clara (Christman) Schweigert. She grew up and attended school in both Plevna and Ekalaka, MT; graduating from Carter County High School in 1948. On December 12, 1948 Virginia married Leland E. Gundlach, her ?Little Sailor Boy, ? in Miles City, MT. Leland and Virginia made their home in Baker, MT for over 57 years and it was here that they raised their six children. Virginia?s greatest joy in life was being a wife to the love of her life and raising and loving her family. She especially enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished babies and children, and never tired of mothering. Sewing, gardening and cooking were a few of Virginia?s enjoyments and her cinnamon rolls are legendary not only in her own family but through out the community. Leland and Virginia could always be seen together whether at celebrations and gatherings throughout the area or on their way to do the chores. Virginia always found time for and enjoyed her Friday morning coffee club. Virginia will be dearly missed by her family and extended family who are extremely grateful for sharing her life and extraordinary love. She is survived by her husband Leland; son Shane (Stephanie) Gundlach of Billings, MT; five daughters, Karin (Ed) Renner of Houston, TX; Jayne Gilmore (Bill Mankin) of Joliet, MT; Robin (Richard) Menger of Baker, MT; Mary (Steve) Warburton of Baker, MT; Lorri (Steve) Madler of Colstrip, MT; three brothers, Kenneth (Audrey) Schweigert of Ekalaka, MT; Donald Schweigert of Kalispell; Charles (Arlene) Schweigert of Billings, MT; three sisters, Eleanor Talkington of Ekalaka, MT; Gloria (Vernon) Preuss of Ekalaka, MT; Carol (Paul) Holfeldt of Miles City, MT; a special niece, Lisa Trezona of Spearfish, SD and numerous other nieces and nephews; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and Ervin Schweigert; two infant brothers; and one grandson, Joel Renner. ?This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
