Virginia Rose

Funeral Services for Virginia May Nagy Rose, 68 of Ekalaka will be 2:00 p. m. Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Carter County High School Gymnasium in Ekalaka. Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2005 from 9:00 a. m. to 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Virginia passed away Monday, November 28, 2005 of a sudden heart attack in Ekalaka. She was born May 4, 1937 at Frenchtown, MT, the last of ten children born to Gabor and Ester Balas Nagy. Virginia attended grade school at Frenchtown and graduated from High School at Missoula. She was proud of her Hungarian Heritage but always said that her mother told her she didn?t need to learn to speak Hungarian – ?What you want to know for? You American now!? She was also proud of all her brothers who served their country. Virginia was working as a telephone operator when she met and later married Hughie John Rose of Ekalaka. They were married October 17, 1958. Virginia and her mare, ?Lady? moved with Hughie to the ranch on Spring Creek. Born to Virginia and Hughie were Nancy, Russell and Patricia (Patty). Virginia loved working on the ranch, the outdoor life and the simple things in life. In 1996 Hughie and Virginia sold the ranch to Paul and Nancy and moved to a ranch near Livingston, MT for two years. They returned to Ekalaka in 1998. Virginia went back to school to become a real estate broker real estate appraiser. She retired from the Triple R Real Estate Office in 2004. Virginia was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Bath Zabia Temple Daughters of the Nile and the Miles City Daughters of the Nile. She was very supportive of these philanthropic organizations, especially the Shrine Children?s Hospitals and Burn Centers. She served as Queen in the Bath Zabia Temple. Virginia was first and foremost a wife and mother; staying with Nancy while at bed rest during pregnancies, Patty during her cancer ordeal and Russell setting up a new business. She sat with two of her brothers during their last days and always ready to lend a hand to help friends as well as family. She enjoyed ?the girls get away? trips with Bernice and Jessie. Virginia had a great fun sense of humor and loved to be with her grandchildren as much as they loved being with her. She deeply loved and was so very proud of each one of them. She will be greatly missed by her family. Survivors include her husband, Hughie of Ekalaka; a son, Russell of Meeteetse, WY; two daughters: Nancy (Paul) Brence of Ekalaka and Patricia ?Patty? (Rob) Kern of Pryor, MT; two brothers: Al ?Elmer? (Edna) Nagy of Deer Lodge, MT and Joe (Evie) Nagy of Seely Lake, MT; a sister, Betty Springer of East Missoula, MT; six grandchildren: Justin and Mike Rose, Angela and Emily Brence and Buster and Rye Kern; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Gabor, Bill, Mike, John and Carl; a sister, Helen and two grandchildren: Ashley Ann Brence and James Mikel Brence. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
