Funeral Mass for Virginia “Jean” Tabor, 80, of Killdeer will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer with Father James Shea celebrating. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer, it will continue from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer with a Vigil Service taking place at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. Jean passed away Monday, May 19, 2008 at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer. Virginia I. Tabor was born June 30, 1927 to Wendel and Paulene (Karey) Roshau in Killdeer, ND. She grew up and attended country grade school before attending high school in Killdeer. After high school, Virginia followed a young man named David Tabor to Seattle, WA. While there she worked at North West Bell Telephone Co. as an operater. David and Jean were married on June 19, 1947 in Seattle. The couple soon returned to Killdeer and made their home there to this day. Jean loved spending time with her family and enjoyed the opportunity to bake for them. She enjoyed crocheting and needle work but her passion was gardening. To say she had a Green Thumb was an understatement. David and Jean never returned from a trip without an new plant to add to her collection, regardless of how they obtained it. She even dried many of the local wild flowers and weeds to put on display. She also enjoyed fishing especially with her grandson at Lake Ilo. The Tabor household was always open to whomever, would stop by, they even boarded young school kids for many years. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched. She is survived by her husband, David; son, Daryl (Lorretta) Tabor of Dickinson, ND; daughter, Cheryl (Kevin) Buehner of Dunn Center; grand kids, Cody, Austin and Amos Buehner all of Dunn Center; Nathan (Marisol) Tabor of Alaska; David Tabor of Dickinson; great-grandson, Luis; brother Wally (Judy) Roshau of Killdeer; Jean was preceded by both of her parents and brother Freddie Roshau.
