Vivian Schorsch

Funeral Mass for Vivian Schorsch, 83, of Dickinson, formerly of Richardton, will be 10:00 a. m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at St. Stephen?s Catholic Church, south of Richardton, with Father Boniface Muggli O. S. B. celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Stephen?s Cemetery. Visitation for will take place from 2:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m. Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Visitation will continue from 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Sunday, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Richardton, with a vigil service taking place at 7:00 p. m. Vivian passed away Thursday, September 09, 2010 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson, ND. Vivian was born on September 29, 1926, in Hettinger County, the daughter of Nick Jr. and Helen ?Lena? (Mayer) Mayer. She grew up on the family farm north of Mott, ND and attended country grade school before graduating from Mott High School. During this time, she received her Teaching Certificate and taught at the local country school for several years. After this, she married Charles R. Schorsch on October 12, 1948. The couple made their home on the farm south of Richardton and was here where she raised their family. The couple lived here for nearly 50 years. Vivian eventually retired to Richardton where she lived for a number of years. She enjoyed the last several years living in Dickinson at Evergreen. Vivian enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, reading books and gardening. She also loved spending time with family and following her grandchildren with their sporting events and school activities. Survivors include two sons, Ron (Marci) Schorsch, of Bismarck; Charles (Kathy) Schorsch of Richardton; one daughter, Charlene (Robert) Friedt, of Dickinson; two brothers, Wilbert E. (Julia) Mayer of Dickinson; Harvey (Sherran) Mayer of Mott; one sister, Violet (Alfred) Kaisershot of Normal, Illinois; 9 Grandchildren, Mylee, Rylan, Mikiah, C. J. Stacie, Nicole, Rhonda, Jason and Michelle, and 10 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
