Walter Huber, age 78, of Hebron, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Medcenter One in Bismarck ending his battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Central Time on Monday, May 22, 2006 at the First Baptist Church Hebron with the Reverend David Ling, Officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery near Mandan. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Walter was born December 1, 1927 in rural Glen Ullin the youngest son of Friedrich and Rosina (Retzer) Huber. The family moved to Beulah in 1937. He attended Beulah School and graduated in 1946. He attended Dickinson State College and received his standard teaching certificate. On February 12, 1952 he was drafted into the US Army. Following his discharge on January 23, 1954 he returned to the college and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Secondary Education. His teaching career began in a country school South of Richardton where he stayed for three years. He was in Leith, ND for two years and in Hebron for 32 years. He married Eunice Pfenning on December 26, 1960 at the Church of God in Beulah. During the summer months in his early years of teaching he attended college at UND and received his Master Degree in 1963. Walter leaves his wife Eunice, Hebron, ND. Two daughters: Janet and husband Paul Brannan, Jr. of Sidney, MT and Beth Huber of Bismarck, and two grandsons Cory and Paul. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Fred, Dave, and Gust, and four sisters: Lydia Ahl, Anna Aipperspach, Bertha Siewert, and Hilda Siewert.
