Funeral services for Walter Opp, 80, of Glen Ullin, ND, will be 9:00 a. m. CDT Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church in Glen Ullin with Reverend Toby Heller officiating. Interment will follow the service at Glen Ullin Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. CDT Friday, April 30, 2010, at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Glen Ullin. Walter passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at his home in Glen Ullin. Walter Opp was born October 7, 1929, to Ed and Emma (Holwegner) Opp at Elgin, ND. Through baptism, he became a child of God several days after birth. He attended rural schools in Grant and Morton County. His entire life, Walter worked on the farm. He enjoyed nature, the land, animals, or anything related to his farming. The farm was his life and he worked at it all the time. He was a great caregiver ? taking care of his mother and father made them happy and gave them assurance for safety with his presence. Our entire family laughed a lot and enjoyed his keen sense of humor and wit. Walter is survived by two sisters: Caroline Theiss of Glen Ullin, ND, and Delores (Warren) Reiner, Hannover, ND; his nieces: Rachel Reiner and her daughter Raina, and Monica (Casey) Reiner-Pletan, and their sons: Seth and Nathan all of Hannover; his nephews: Jeffrey Reiner of Fargo, ND, and Tyrel (Amber) Reiner, and their daughter, Rebecca of New Salem, ND.
