Wayne Kubas

South Heart

A Memorial Service for Wayne Kubas, 66, of South Heart, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Heart.

Visitation for Wayne will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home.

Wayne passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Dickinson.

Wayne David Kubas was born March 4, 1958 in Dickinson to David and Patricia (Sadowsky) Kubas. He grew up on the family farm North of South Heart graduating from South Heart High School. Following graduation Wayne spent his time driving bus for the school and working on the family farm. Wayne met the love of his life Marla Hibl and the two were united in marriage in 1981 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Dana. Together they made their home on a dairy farm North of South Heart. A few months shy of 30 years, Wayne spent his career at Steffes working as a laser operator. In 1999 the family moved into South Heart and have made their home their ever since. 

Wayne enjoyed taking care of his yard and would recently be found spending time filling his bird feeders and watching birds. His greatest joy was taking care of his family, never missing his grandson’s events.  Wayne was a member of the Catholic Workman in New Hradec and a KC Member. 

Wayne is survived by his wife, Marla Kubas; daughter, Dana (Donavan) Urban; grandsons, Morgan and Maverick Urban; siblings, Kathy (Galen) Hibl, Dean Kubas, Dave (Mary) Kubas, Del (Marchell) Kubas, Arlen (Dickie Jo) Kubas, Charlene (Kevin) Hibl, Ivan (Kristi) Kubas, and Terry (Lynn) Kubas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vince and Georgie Hibl; brother-in-law, Curt (Carol) Hibl; sisters-in-law, Janel (Adam) Jangula and Kim (Wade) Wolf; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two infant sisters, and sister-in-law, Geri Kubas.
